Rock My Shoes

Shoes & Handbag Customisation Workshops

Frequently asked questions

What shoe styles can I bring to the craft workshop?

Flats, high heels, skyscraper heels, boots, Uggs, dancing shoes, sport shoes, trainers, Converse, crocs, wellies, kids shoes... anything you like!  If you are bringing wedding shoes, a clear head and no alcohol is advised; pale satin wedding shoes are tricky to work with and need extra care and attention.

What material is okay?

Suede (upper), patent (upper), leather (upper), synthetic (upper), canvas (upper), textile (upper), rubber (soles), wood (heels), metal (heels), cork (heels). Most shoe upper materials (except light coloured satin and light coloured suede) are easy to work with.  Light coloured satin and light coloured suede can be brought along but extra care should be taken when working with light fabrics.

Alcohol is not advised if you are working on your own bridal shoes.

Please email Nicky Rox at in advance if you are unsure.

What do I bring?

Shoe Workshops

Any pair of clean shoes (new shoes or old shoes are okay to bring)

A shoe box to protect shoes in whilst they dry (for 2 hours drying time)

Reading glasses if you already wear them - it is close-up work

T-Shirt and Handbag Workshops

Any sized T-Shirt or any sized Handbag (new or old are okay to bring)

A hanger to protect the T-Shirt whilst it dries (for 2 hours drying time)

A suitable bag to protect the Handbag whilst it dries (for 2 hours drying time)

Reading glasses if you already wear them - it is close-up work

Do you offer children's parties?

Unfortunately the parties are not suitable for children due to the use of small crystals.  The glue used is non-toxic and used in the trade for shoe customisation. Although a safe and mess-free method is taught, the activity is more suited to adult craft workshops.  The min. age requirement is 18 years old (or 15 years if accompanied by an adult who is taking part in the workshop).

Travel Fees

Travel fees will already be included in your quote and will not be added on at a later date.

Where do the craft workshops take place?

Venue Option 1 -  We can teach a workshop in a venue you can provide.

A Mobile Party Service is offered to come to your hen house, rented holiday cottage, workplace or home residence. (Please note: table space and chairs will be needed to seat everyone as well as extra display areas for craft materials for the group).

Venue Option 2 - We can find you a great hotel venue and arrange a function room for you.

We are based in Manchester, UK.  However we travel all over the country too so we will arrange a venue and meet you in a town or city of your choice.  Please book far in advance to avoid disappointment.  We have hand-picked some fabulous hotels that we use around the UK to teach our craft workshop shoe parties! Take a look here.  You can decide the town or city, and we will find a hotel function party room there for your celebration.

A deposit (the cost of 1 or 2 places) holds the booking and is non-refundable. Final monies will be due 4-6 weeks before the party date. Extra places can still be booked after final monies have been paid if you give advance notice of this.

Bookings are accepted for smaller groups if the minimum group size is paid for.  Crystals and catering for the min. group size will still be provided for your group (to meet the min. group size) and the extra crystals (and food / drinks if applicable) can be shared amongst the group in any way you prefer.

Please note that no bystanders, children or animals are allowed in the party room for the duration of the workshop. Video is not allowed.

Payment Method

Payment is accepted via BACS transfer against an invoice provided by Rock My Shoes and emailed to the organiser of the booking.
